A Tribute to the Life of Jack Graber
March 5, 1937 – October 14, 2014

The Montgomery Ruritan Club would like to honor the Memory of one of it’s dedicated Members in Jack Graber who passed away on Tuesday Oct. 14 of 2014 at the age of 77 years old. Jack was a long time member of the Montgomery Ruritan Club and worked at many functions for the club. He was honored with the Clubs Service Award in September of 1995 after serving as President in 1991 and Turkey Trot Chairman in 1996 and was a member of the Ruritan Board of Directors for several years.

Born March 5, 1937, in Daviess County, he was the son of Fred and Fannie (Graber) Graber. Jack attended Providence Mennonite Church and was a farmer, former bus driver for the North Daviess and Barr-Reeve school corporations. He was a current Daviess County councilman, serving over 30 years and was on the ballot for re-election this year when he passed away.

Jack was also very active in Daviess County Right To Life Banquets selling tickets for many years. Jack gave encouragement and support to the organization and he praised the organization for their support of adoption instead of abortion. Jack was in failing health and got sick prior to the Banquet this year and was not able to attend. Jack will truly be missed as he was very involved in the community. He is survived by his wife, Alda “Til” (Graber) Graber, whom he married Feb. 14, 1964; one daughter, Jacqueline Graber-Thorne and husband Dr. Marcus Thorne of Washington. He leaves one brother, Willard Graber and four grand-children

The Montgomery Ruritan Club is truly grateful to Jack for all his efforts over the many years he served. He will always be remembered and will truly be missed. May God Grant Him His Eternal Reward.
