A Tribute to the Life of Grant Boy Olds
August 13, 1953 – July 12, 2017

The Montgomery Ruritan Club would like to honor the Memory of one of it’s dedicated Members, Grant Boy Olds who passed away on July 12 of 2017. Grant Olds served as President and Turkey Trot Chairman

Grant was born on August 13, 1953, in Reno, Nevada. He graduated from South Spencer High in 1971, attended Western Kentucky University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and later received a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana State University (Evansville) in 1978. He went on to have a very successful 35 year career as an Agricultural Lender. He married Cindy Stoops on December 29, 1973, and they spent 43 years of wedded bliss together. Grant and Cindy moved to the Montgomery Indiana area in the early 90s where they raised their children and he served on the Barr-Reeve School Board, was a member of the Montgomery Ruritan Club and was honored to receive the Sagamore of the Wabash Award. He was also a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge, enjoyed music, was a dedicated fan of Indiana University basketball, Notre Dame football, and the St. Louis Cardinals, was a season ticket holder of the Indianapolis Colts, and attended the Indianapolis 500 each year with family and friends. Grant’s favorite past time was being a member of the Austin Olds Racing pit crew and watching his grandson race go karts across the country

The Montgomery Ruritan Club is truly grateful to Grant for all his many years of service to the Club and to the Community. He will always be remembered and May God Grant Him His Eternal Reward.
