Shown above are Josh Thompson (left) and Jim Truelove (right) a short time before Thompson went on stage for his performance at the Turkey Trot this past Friday night. Truelove is in charge of the entertainment and works with Varity Attractions out of Ohio to secure some of the best County Western Stars for the Turkey Trot. This was the 40th Anniversary for the Turkey Trot and the crowd was up again over last year.

Shown Above is the presentation of the Championship Trophy at the Demo Derby held this past Sunday at the Turkey Trot. Shown above is Bruce Nicholson (second from right) who finished first in the Demo. Also pictured is Vaughn Graber, Leo Barley Jr. and Tim Showalter, all Demo Officials. The Turkey Trot Demo may have been one of the largest Demo’s held in the area and a large crown turned out for a real battle they went down to the very end. Close to 30 cars took part in this year’s Demo Derby.

Shown Above is the presentation of the second and third place finishers of the Demo Derby held this past Sunday at the Montgomery Turkey Trot. Shown above is Luke Worland who finished in 2nd place and B.J. Worland who finished in 3rd place in the Demo. Also pictured is Vaughn Graber(left), Leo Barley Jr. (center) and Tim Showalter(right), all Demo Officials. The Finish at the Demo was one of the most exciting ever held as the three battled to the end.

Shown above is Brittany Saucerman (second from right) as she is presented the Championship trophy in the Mini Heat in the 2011 Demo Derby at the Turkey Trot in Montgomery. Also pictured is Vaughn Graber (left) Leo Barley (center) and Tim Showalter (right) as Demo Derby Officials. Finishing second was Rusty Jones. The Mini Heat proved to be a real crowd pleaser as Jones and Saucerman battled each other to the end. Another large crowd turned out for all of Sunday’s events at the Turkey Trot.

Shown above is Levi Traylor (1) son of Brad and Jana Traylor of Montgomery as he races in the Turkey Race on Thusday night at the Montgomery Turkey Trot. Levi did very well as a 4 year old and seems to be concentrating as the race gets underway. Levi’s Dad is the Vice President of the Montgomery Ruritan Club which puts on the Turkey Trot each Ruritan Club which puts on the Turkey Trot each year.

Shown above is the Pig Wrestling Event which was held on Sunday at the Turkey Trot. As you can see the pig is doing a pretty good job of keeping away from the girls who are trying to catch them. With their backs to the camera is Joe Robinson(left) and Jason Hawkins (right) who are the officials in the pit. This event which was started several years ago has drawn twenty teams or more and have a good attendance for the event.

Shown above is Aaron Tinkle(right) as he is presented the Championship Trophy for winning the Championship Turkey Race on Sunday at the Montgomery Turkey Trot. Aaron was the winner over the 70 racers that took part in the annual Turkey Races at Montgomery. The Winner will also receive a $250 savings bond as well as the bragging rights as the champion turkey racer for 2011. Tinkle beat the second place finisher Abbi Briggman by one second. Presenting the Trophy is Charles Albert Kavanaugh who is the Publicity Chairman for the Turkey Trot.

Shown above are the 2011 Montgomery Service Award Winners after the presentation on main stage Saturday night at the Montgomery Turkey Trot just prior to the big show. Shown above is Service Award Winners John Wagler (Left) and Pius Hart (Right) and Turkey Trot Chairman Dewayne Shake (Center) who made the presentation. Each year the Club honors club members who have given service not only to the club but to the Community and both men have went beyond the call of duty. The Montgomery Ruritan Club is probably one of the most successful community organizations in Indiana.

Shown above is Alice Robbins (second from right) with the McClymounts Sisters (Samantha, Mollie and Brooke) who performed at the Turkey Trot on Saturday night. Alice who has been the secretary for the Turkey Trot for 7 years has done a great job and they tell her this is one of the perks of the job to meet some of the best in the County Western entertainment.

Shown above is the winning team at this year’s Turkey Trot Horse Pull. The Team is owned by Chris Hatfield of Cromwell, Ky. This team of horses weigh about 5600 lbs.

Shown above are the Yoder Sisters, Melissa and Melinda of Montgomery before they had their turn in the pit. In the background you can see the teams going at it as the tourney was well underway at this point. The team the Yoder Sisters were on did not win but they did have fun. This was the 27th year for the Mud Volleyball at the Turkey Trot.

Shown above is the Cornhole Tournament that was held over the weekend at the Montgomery Turkey Trot. 32 teams compete in first round and 18 in the second round as it has become bigger each year.
